Practical guide

How to make scrolling text on your phone.

Create a bright digital marquee in a browser and make it readable in the place where you plan to use it.

1. Write a short message

Open the free LED Scroller and type the exact words you want to show. A message under eight words is easier to understand in one pass. If the text is longer, slow down the motion.

2. Choose a high-contrast style

Lime, white, yellow or cyan on a black background works in most environments. Neon is expressive in dark venues, while Clean and LED are easier to read in bright spaces.

3. Set direction and speed

Leftward movement is familiar to readers of left-to-right languages. Start around speed 4 or 5. Stand a few steps away from the preview and confirm that you can read the entire message without effort.

4. Enter full screen

Rotate the phone to landscape, press Full screen and hold the screen steady. Some browsers require you to adjust screen brightness or rotation lock manually.

5. Save a backup

The editor remembers the latest design in the same browser. You can also download a PNG or copy a configuration link. Remember that shared links include the message text, so do not share private passenger names or confidential information.

Where scrolling text works well

  • Concert and sports cheers
  • Short shop promotions
  • Party greetings
  • Communication in noisy venues
  • Moving announcements on a spare tablet
